20.05.2009: Christian Homburg ranks first in the Handelsblatt-Ranking of german-speaking professors for Business Administration. According to the ranking of the Handelsblatt, Christian Homburg covers the top position of 2100 professors for Business Administration in Germany, Austria and the german-speaking part of Switzerland regarding his current research performance. 21.02.2009: The American Marketing Association honored Christian Homburg on their Winter Marketing Educators Conference in Tampa/Florida with three awards. Christian Homburg received the Louis W. Stern Award for his article "Buyer-Supplier Relationships and Customer Firm Costs" published in 2001 in the Journal of Marketing together with Professor Joseph P. Cannon (Colorado State University). Together with Prof. Dr. Jan Wieseke (Ruhr-Universität Bochum) and Christina Kühnl (Universität Mannheim), he received the Best Paper Award in the track "Sales & Relationship Marketing". Furthermore, he obtained the Best Paper Award in the track "Research Methods" together with Dr. Martin Klarmann (Universität Mannheim), Dr. Oliver Schilke (Stanford University) and Dr. Martin Reimann (University of Southern California).
09.07.2008: The Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg honored Christian Homburg with his second honorary doctor. He received the honorary doctorate for his outstanding international research activities, his commitment in the field of Marketing and his excellent achievements as director of Mannheim Business School. 03.12.2007: Viviana Steiner received the "Business Intelligence Performer Award 2007 for excellent research". Around 1100 managers and executives took part in Germany's biggest conference for IT solutions. 22.02.2007: Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Christian Homburg, Mathias Droll and Dirk Totzek received the Best Paper Award in the Marketing Strategy Track as well as the Overall Best Paper Award at the 2007 AMA Winter Marketing Educators' Conference in San Diego (California). Their paper "Should Firms Prioritize Their Customers?" deals with the impact of customer prioritization strategies on a firm's profitability. Their findings are based on a sample of 310 higher-level managers from a broad range of services and manufacturing companies in both business-to-consumer and business-to-business markets.
